Early 20th-century woven basket with curved wooden handle. A relic of China’s agrarian past, these vessels were originally used to collect, weigh and carry freshly harvested rice from the country’s legendary rice paddy farms. Baskets are worn in places with oversized stitches or small holes left for character. Each basket is unique. Not suitable for long-term outdoor use or damp environments. These baskets would be a lovely display next to the fireplace, in a rustic kitchen, or under a console table. Sold as-is. Each of our Vintage Tall Handle Baskets is completely unique and variations should be expected.
